We have implemented a new "Judge's activity map" feature. This allows competition organizers to visualize the activity of judges during live scoring events. The map displays a heatmap of interactions, showing where judges are spending their time and their overall engagement. This provides valuable insights into the judging process and helps identify areas where judges might be struggling or excelling.

We have added vouchers to the payment part of the system. Vouchers are strings like

MV4U-U2TC-GIYX-OSLK-N5UU-26TD-NFGE-GSTL-MFME-42TC-GNLH-KZCD-JE3E-S2SV-O5EW-4MBO-KFJX-E3SK-NZ5F

and are specific to a certain competition and (optionally) a user. The voucher contains a certain discount amount: 0-100%. The organisers can generate vouchers via a plugin.

When the user enters the voucher, it is decrypted and matched against the competition and user. If it is correct, the price is immediately updated and - in the case of a 100% discount - the photos are marked as paid.

We have now introduced a feature so judging categories can be set to "view only". This is useful if you, for instance, want to let the judges have a sneak peek of the photos before judging starts. If a judging category is set to "view only", you can still start a live judging event.

An office, headjudge or admin can now reset all the scores in a particular judging event. Needless to say, this should be used only in exceptional circumstances as the judges' scores can not be retrieved after this. Still, it can be useful to reset scores, for instance if you want to start from scratch, in a training session.

We now protect account creation by an extra wall of security which makes it harder for crackers to create hundreds of accounts.

As part of the validation process, we are now connected to an AI service which can analyse the EXIF information in the submitted image. While it's no panacea for detecting "foul play", it can be useful for certain categories where certain types of editing is not allowed.

We have introduced a new type of user: headjudge. A headjudge can also login to the admin page, but has fewer capabilities than an office person. In particular, a headjudge can
  • Only see competitions that he/she has been assigned to.
  • Only see judging events associated with competitions that he/she has been assigned to and conduct live scoring.
  • Only see verifications, challenges, validations and photos that are relevant for their competitions.
  • A headjudge does not have access to plugins, templates, or categories.

The idea is that a headjudge should not be able to glance at other competition's scores, but can edit and control judging events associated with the competition that they are assigned to.

A headjudge can "become" a judge, for testing purposes.
